Testimonials

“I couldn’t have asked for a better experience during my time with the Gilbert Bunnell Foundation. It’s something I looked forward to every summer. It not only provided me the opportunity to grow in the game of golf, but most importantly it helped me grow in the game of life. Golf and life are very similar, they both can beat you down at times, but with patience, perseverance and integrity you can get through anything they throw at you. My experiences taught me that.”

“Growing up, we lived on the golf course in Winchester. The Gilbert Bunnell Foundation allowed us to travel and live on other courses in Central Kentucky. We used that circuit to help improve our games during the summer months and help propel our high school teams to 2 State Runner-up finishes. We built lifelong friendships through the tour and can’t thank the people who ran the tour enough for that.”

Participating in Gilbert Bunnell is an actionable step towards creating a better future for our young men and women.”

“The Gilbert Bunnell Inter-league introduced me to numerous lifelong friends along with wonderful volunteers such as Dave Bunnell. The foundation is a tremendous way for children of any age to begin enjoying, while also learning the values of, the game of golf. Little did I know at the time, how significant of an impact the league would have on my life. I cannot speak more highly of my experience and the life long lessons that were instilled in me through my participation in the Gilbert Bunnell Foundation.”

“The Gilbert Bunnell Foundation taught me life core values such as integrity, sportsmanship, and honesty that were all taught and developed while competing. These skills continued throughout my high school and collegiate golf career. I will be forever grateful for the Gilbert Bunnell foundation for the wonderful friendships and memories I made while playing the game I love the most.”

“Lexington’s “Junior Interclub” now known as the Gilbert-Bunnell Foundation allowed me to compete regularly and various golf courses both public and private in the area. Many of my fellow competitors became lifelong friends who still tee it up with me today. In addition to lifelong friends and regular competition, the series opened my eyes to a potential career in golf, which I have now enjoyed for nearly 20 years as a PGA Professional.”
